New Year Same Studio Nonsense

Happy New Year Kids!
So... we've reached the other side of the holiday season...
How you doin?
Fried? You're fried right?
It's almost like you need a vacation from your vacation... I know I do.
It is necessary during these high peak times to take it easy and be compassionate to yourself. But now that you're ready (forced against your will) to get back to your daily schedule, you may find yourself struggling. How can you combat these blahs? Start off by taking a deep breath and know that you're not alone!
Set realistic goals for your first day my dears. No, you will not get your massive to-do list completed the first day back. That massive mountain of tasks waiting for you will knock you down if you try! But never fear! Knowing this helps you prioritize the most important items first and then knock off some little jobs here and there in between. You'll get a lot done breaking things down into smaller more manageable tasks.
Take your breaks! It might be tempting to skip lunch in order to get more work done but you need and deserve your breaks! So put on some good tunes and dance around! Do a bit of yoga. Go for a walk. Grab a coffee and window gaze for a minute or two. Have a healthy snack and do some deep breathing exercises. Call a loved one and have a quick chat. Anything that isn't related to the tasks at hand. It's so important to take breaks and do something different now and then during the day. It keeps the creative juices flowing and is good for the body and soul. The mountain will look a little less intimidating when you come back to it.
Remember that positivity is key. Try to focus on the good things about being back at work, like catching up with your coworkers (if you have any) or that feeling of finally getting back into a routine. You may be overwhelmed but remember that even though facing down your to-do list can feel like an insurmountable task, you can and will do it!
And last but not least, don't forget to laugh. Whether it's giggling at your dog prancing around during your walk, watching tiktoks during your lunch break, or simply finding humor in all the little things that happen to go wrong during the beginning of the new year back, laughter can truly be the best medicine for all that ails you. It's no sweat, have fun with it and you'll be back to your regular productivity levels in no time.
Embrace the new year with open arms and a positive attitude, and you'll be unstoppable!
Love,
The Goat
