The Post October Daily Art Challenge Blog

So, you did it.... you've survived a month of daily art challenges. How are you doing?
I know... You're probably feeling uninspired, unmotivated, and ready to climb into the pile of laundry that has been forgotten on your bed all month long. Same.
But don't worry, it happens to the best of us. It won't last long either if you take a deep breath and try out some of these tips we've compiled for you!
Embrace Imperfection
Listen up, punk, first of all, you need to KNOW, like, know, in your heart of hearts, it's okay to not create a masterpiece every. single. day. Not every piece of art you come up with is going to be the most mind-blowing thing anyone's ever seen - and that's okay! Creating isn't about perfection or impressing other people. You need to learn to embrace the wonky lines and the smudges. Art is subjective, and sometimes the best pieces are the most memorable. So, let go of your inner perfectionist and just have fun with it!
Switch up Your Medium
Feeling stuck in a rut with your usual pencil and paper routine? Now is the time to shake things up by trying out a new medium! Grab some clay, play around with digital art, or even dabble in some good ol' mixed media. Exploring different mediums can reignite your passion for creating, inspire new ideas and lead to amazing artistic discoveries!
Take a Break (No, Seriously, Go On, Get)
Recognize when it's time to step away from the canvas and give your brain a break. Taking a breather doesn't mean you're giving up; it means you're giving yourself the space to recharge and come back stronger. Go for a walk, binge-watch some Netflix, or simply stare at the ceiling and contemplate the meaning of life for an hour or two. Trust us, a little break can do wonders for yourself and for your creativity.
Find Your Community
Burnout can feel pretty lonely, but you're not alone in this struggle, so many others are experiencing the same thing, right now! Joining a community of like-minded artists can provide you with the support, encouragement, and inspiration you need to keep going. Share your work, engage in discussions, and cheer on your fellow artists. Together, you can conquer burnout one squiggly doodle at a time.
Set Realistic Goals
Let's talk about setting realistic goals. It's great to want to challenge yourself, but don't go overboard and set unattainable expectations. Be kind to yourself and set goals that are achievable for YOU. Maybe you can only reasonably do a drawing once a week right now or maybe all you can post online are reposts of earlier work. That's okay! Remember, it's about the journey, not just the destination.
So, there you have it, fellow artist. Hopefully you try some of these tips and they help you climb out of that laundry pile and keep on creating! With a little humor, a dash of creativity, and a whole lot of passion, you'll be away to the races. Now go forth and create something just for you!
